DevShare Program Eliminated
The
DevShare program was completely eliminated. The DevShare program
delivered installer bundles as part of the download for participating
projects, which in retrospect was not in our (or our
community's) best interests. This is a clear first step in our plan to
rehabilitate our reputation as a trusted home for open source software.
We want the community to know that we are more interested in doing the
right thing than profiting from unwanted programs such as DevShare. As
we move forward, we will be focusing on the needs of our developers and
visitors with new site features focused on community trust. Eliminating
DevShare was
just the first step of many more to come.
